Sometimes personal issues or family priorities make women entrepreneurs choose to pause their entrepreneurial lives enough to take care of themselves or their families. This is perfectly acceptable. Women on the edge of knowing they may have to do this are invited to this special conversation and event about pausing, reinventing, and emerging back to business.

Technology has changed the way women communicate by opening up a global network of new friends while in ways hindering the local social network. This is a reason live events can't stop being produced. Women need to stay connected in mixed forms. Perhaps the days of having 100 women in a room together is gone only to be replaced by more intimate settings with livelier, authentic discussions where sharing takes a warmer form to cold technology.

Women TIES is embracing this concept and inviting any of our members and Syracuse area women entrepreneurs to join us as we embark on smaller more intimate gatherings of women where we'll host real conversations about business success and struggles teaching and inspiring each other in a more authentic, intimate way.

At this first event, Women TIES Founder Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham, who has not produced an event in Syracuse since last year due to a medical sabbatical, will share wisdom from her alopecia experience to help any woman currently facing hardships while running her business or women anticipating changes in the year to come. We believe in "Women Supporting Women in Business, Sports, Equality and Life" and we'll jumpstart that feeling as we launch into 2019.

The event will be held at woman owned non-profit Café 407 so we can put our money in the hands of a woman owned business. Join us for a non-traditional conference room setting to hear Tracy's story and bond with other women entrepreneurs. Tracy will also be re-launching the Women's Athletic Network since sports, fitness and exercise brought her so much mental peace and activity during her sabbatical. It is a gift to give so come ready to be inspired.

The room is limited to 20 women so get your reservation in early! Light refreshments will be served. Bring your business cards since there won't be room for any display tables.

This event is sponsored by Pathfinders Bank.

About the Presenter

Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham has been a proponent, supporter and connector of women entrepreneurs for 24 years. She was recently described, "There is a profound depth to your gentle kindness that has found its way regardless of external circumstances. There is an inner power within you that needs to talk to the world. The wake up call for those dreamily wasting precious life moments. There's a lot more to you than a supporter of women's businesses. I felt it when I walked into the luncheon and you offered such a true and warm greeting. There is also a strength within you that transcends your business of helping women. You could have taken a very different path, but you didn't. You took a path as a teacher, healer, mentor, and friend."

Women's Athletic Network: First Committee Meeting - Women Invited

Women's Athletic Network

Wednesday, February 6, 2019

Location:
Cafe 407, Tulip Street, Liverpool, New York

Reservations due:  February 4

$10.00  (Secures a Beverage of Your Choice & Seat at the Table)

All women interested in being involved with the Women TIES' Women's Athletic Network Committee are invited to attend to find out more about this new network to empower women together in sports and support female athletes.

We chose this day because it marks the 33rd Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD). For more than three decades, this celebration has empowered women and girls to get moving, reap the benefits of physical activity and push past their limits both in sports and in life. The confidence, strength and character gained through sports and physical activity are the very tools girls need to become strong leaders, in their own lives and in the world.

The Women's Athletic Network (WAN) was started in Syracuse by Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham in 2013 after becoming an empty nester and remembering her origins in sports with two parents who were coaches and physical education teachers; and as her feminist spirit grew to want to support and aid women athletes by putting more women in the stands to support them.

In 2019, WAN will kick off a larger program schedule and events. Women interested in getting involved can sign up to attend the meeting. We only have room for 20 women. If you can't make the event but want to be on the mailing list, fill out the reservation form and list your intent for future involvement in the "Comments" section.

About the Presenter

A 24 year supporter, champion and advocate of women in business, Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham also embraces sports, fitness and health in her life.

Tracy has been busy interviewing female athletes for a special 2019-2020 presentation to shine a light on fantastic female athletes and some of the inequality they face.

This special Women TIES Southern Tier Luncheon is intended to spark an honest conversation between women entrepreneurs on what is needed most today to help them and each other succeed in an ever changing world of entrepreneurship.

23 years ago when women entrepreneurs were starting out the Internet was just entering the workplace. Most women didn't admit they worked from home base offices and most couldn't because technology wasn't there yet. Event attendance grew as women business owners understood they needed to meet women face-to-face to market their companies. Social media marketing wasn't in existence yet either. It was only through personal interaction that women could connect with other women to build their brand and business base.

At this special luncheon, Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham, President of Women TIES, LLC will inspire women with recent insights during her five month medical sabbatical and lead the conversation among women entrepreneurs on sharing best practices on hot topics facing business women in the room that day! Come prepared to share what is working for you and your company so we all walk out with new ways to advance in entrepreneurship.

This event is sponsored by the New York Women's Business Center. Learn more about their free services for women owned businesses at www.nywbc.org.
