National Women and Girls in Sports Day Event with Women's Athletic Network and Women TIES
February 4th is National Women and Girls Day in Sports, designated by the Women's Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King. Depending on the weather, we will ski, snowshoe, or walk that day. The WAN cross-country ski/hike in the woods event with Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham is for Wednesday, February 4, 2025, from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m. at Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville, New York. You never know when the snow will be flying or when we will have enough of it, so we are planning a Women TIES' Women's Athletic Network Cross Country Ski event for women (and girls, if you have one to bring). If you have your own Cross-Country Skis or Hiking Boots, bring them along with proper clothing and a positive attitude. Who said networking couldn't be "cool" outside? Meet Tracy and others in the building and set out for one of the trails. Then, finish the event with networking inside, where Tracy will buy you coffee, hot chocolate, Gatorade, water, and a few snacks. The price includes the networking list, experience, and beverages/snacks. Notice: Beaver Lake Nature Center does not rent skis at this location. Come on! Join the Women's Athletic Network for this "cool" outdoor athletic event, which will kick off in 2026, and discuss ways to encourage women and girls in sports. About the Presenter An athlete and businesswoman at heart, Tracy kicks off 2026 with a sports event that other women can join, even though she has been skiing since she was five. The offspring of two P.E. Teachers and Coaches, Tracy learned to ski early downhill and across the land. She wants to take other women with her on this snowy adventure and other sporting events throughout the year.

The Syracuse Half Marathon fee includes: Entry into the 2026 Syracuse Half Marathon Tracy ran the event in 2025 and had the best time running, and got her best half marathon time yet! Come join her!
Women TIES Media Sponsor: Syracuse Actors Studio SASFest
Women TIES President Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham is the publicist for the Syracuse Actors Studio and its new special event, SASFest 2026! Interested in locally written and produced Syracuse films? Join the Syracuse Actors Studio for its own version of the Sundance Festival. Join the Syracuse Actors Studio on Sunday, April 19th, 2026, 12 PM-8 PM, for the First Annual SASFest! Think Sundance Festival, but here in Syracuse, it is a local film festival for and by Syracuse Actors Studio (SAS) members to showcase their own independent films. They are proud and excited to show their work to the local community, encourage filmmakers to work with them, and encourage their members to make their own films. They will publish a complete program, but are currently screening several exciting films, including American Claudius, It's Me Again, Amariah, Trent Lockwood and the Ashes of Empire, and more! There will be Question-and-Answer opportunities after each film with the creatives involved. SAS prides itself on offering free and open events to the public. Friends, family, and the general public are encouraged to attend. Still, they are encouraging people to donate in advance or at the door to support their organization and their generous partner, The Palace Theater, for this creative local festival. They hope to raise money to help them keep the theatre going for local filmmakers and incredible shows, and to support SAS so they can keep hosting outstanding programs open to all. The Palace Theater will have a full bar and concessions with snacks, candy, and popcorn. Please enjoy responsibly, but also help us support them for being gracious hosts. We are also looking to partner with food trucks so everyone can stay the whole day and enjoy! They seek financial support from individual or corporate sponsors for our event, to help sustain these two great beacons of art in our community: The Palace Theater & Syracuse Actors Studio! Please get in touch with Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham at womenties33@gmail.com if you would like to sponsor SASFest. As a sponsor, you and your company/organization will receive numerous promotional benefits. They are also looking for volunteers to serve as door people, ushers, and to help sell merchandise. Please get in touch with Laura Stisser at lastisser@gmail.com if interested in volunteering. Get excited now! You don't have to go to Colorado to see excellent indie films at a festival; you have SASFest 2026 in your own backyard. Registration is open now for tickets at this link: Contact Tracy for sponsorship opportunities with media and PR benefits. About the Presenter Syracuse Actors Studio is always a free monthly meetup for actors, where we learn from and practice acting together. Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to attend! Filmmakers, writers, playwrights, producers, casting agents, and observers are all welcome.
